Overview

The Credit Specialist-Collections for Dole Packaged Foods will ensure the prompt payment of invoices according to the invoiced terms, adhering to the collection standards stated in the Credit Policy. This position will also support the SAP customer master set up process and related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely collection and/or resolution of invoices.
  • Works with Credit Manager to identify issues and/or solutions related to collections where the invoice(s) are unpaid
  • Chairs the weekly collection meeting every other week which involves providing/presenting updates to management on collections related issues
  • Provides collection analysis when applicable
  • Establish and maintain relationships with the external customer base, broker network, and internal colleagues in Sales and Sales Support
  • Follows collection process as outlined in the company’s Credit Policy
  • Coordinates with management on SAP account set up and change process
  • Acts as liaison between Sales Support and Financial Services on account set ups
  • Approves and processes credit memo requests received from Sales Support
  • May require some overtime work as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in A/R and collections, preferably at a mid to large size company
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Office; able to perform tasks such as Macros and V look up in Excel
  • Sound understanding of the collection process
  • ERP experience (SAP) strongly preferred

 KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Self-starter; able to work independently and set priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and communicate problems and offer potential solutions

 EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones, and utilize a variety of office equipment. Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and reach overhead.

  • Minimal
