  • Overview

    The Senior Transportation Analyst will lead more complex analysis activities in projects in the transportation and supply chain areas for Dole Packaged Foods. The candidate will ensure all data of the inbound international shipments is properly reflected in the ERP system with accurate financial and operational information to provide tracking and impact at the product line level. The candidate will support domestic transportation in areas such as vendor procurement, service level metrics, and KPI development and review. 


    • Analytical review of international transportation costs, including ocean freight, drayage, and assessorial charges to understand impact to the U.S. market P&L
    • Makes recommendations to management based on analysis
    • Manage the ocean carrier and drayman in execution and cost of service
    • Develop process improvements to improve efficiencies and/or reduce spend
    • Communicate with partners, suppliers, and brokers on opportunities for improvements in accuracy and other areas as needed
    • SAP responsibilities for international and domestic transportation including set up, rates, routing, tracking reporting, etc.
    • Process consolidated transmission file to bring international shipments into SAP
    • Provide analytical support for supply chain projects and senior management, as needed
    • Operationally support domestic freight peak shipping seasons, working directly with carriers and vendors
    • Assist in developing and monitoring improvements for meeting customer “on-time-in-full” requirements.
    • Collaborate with finance/accounting to resolve payment and reporting issues
    • Other duties as assigned.




    • 5 years of experience in operations support; specifically, in transportation preferred
    • Proven analytical capabilities for gathering and reviewing large amounts of data; must understand the drivers of variance that will be complex with changes in mix, destination, source, carrier, and rate changes
    • Experience in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel skills required
    • SAP (or other integrated ERP) experience strongly preferred

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • APICS or CSCMP preferred; related operations management courses helpful


    • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones, and utilize a variety of office equipment. Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and reach overhead.


    • Occasional travel may be required
