Overview

The Distribution Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring prompt processing and supporting of high volume distribution charges (e.g., warehouse, transportation, and drayage).  This position will also support other accounting related projects and duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely processing of weekly warehouse autopay charges related to initial handling, initial storage, and monthly recurring expenses.  Prepare document support for the autopay charges. 
  • Ensure timely processing of weekly transportation charges (CASS).
  • Ensure prompt processing of other manual warehouse charges (not part of Xsuite).
  • Support Treasury Department on the weekly check printing and warehouse related stop payment requests.
  • Support WLV Regional Operational Managers on the xSuite AP as needed.
  • Run and save the distribution GL accounts report out of SAP by Wednesday of the first week of each period.
  • Determines related warehouse vendor related inquiries relative to invoice payment questions
  • Responds to warehouse vendor related inquiries relative to invoice payment questions.
  • Reconciles monthly warehouse vendor statements.
  • Prepare distribution payables invoices for electronic storage.
  • Other accounting projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge/understanding of A/P standards
  • 1-3 years of Accounting experience, preferably with Freight and/or Warehouse Payables
  • Intermediate Excel spreadsheet skills and working knowledge of other Microsoft products

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college or college degree preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time, ability to answer phones, and utilize a variety of office equipment. Ability to lift a minimum of 15 lbs. and reach overhead.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Limited travel required
