  • Overview

    Job Summary:          


    Position is responsible for providing oversight and training, scheduling, development and supervision to include disciplinary action when needed for all sanitation employees in a Frozen/Fresh Fruit manufacturing plant production environment.


    Work Hours  :


    Monday through Friday Graveyard Shift but must be willing to work any shift, any day of the week, as needed. Weekend coverage may be needed during peak production season on an as needed basis. Primary work is on Graveyard shift.


    Duties and Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

    Primary Duties:       


      • Responsible to comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management.
      • System with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption.
      • Responsible for insuring safe and accurate distribution of chemicals and sanitation supplies.
      • Responsible for insuring all processing areas are sanitized.
      • Responsible for maintaining a timely schedule so that all production operations start on time.
      • Responsible for monitoring employees’ sanitizing procedures and practices.
      • Responsible for insuring GMP’S are understood and practiced.
      • Responsible for reviewing pre-operation results with Quality Assurance.
      • Responsible for verifying all sanitation documentation.
    • Responsible for maintaining Safe Working Conditions.
    • Responsible for department budget.



    Secondary Duties:    


    • Make sure company safety rules and policies are followed and enforced at all times.
    • Complete special projects as assigned.
    • Assign Sanitation workers to production in the event of a break down (conveyors stopping, product falling on the floor, etc.).
    • Follow safety procedures.
    • Complete other duties as assigned.


    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or related scientific field with 4+ years of experience in quality/manufacturing/sanitation management roles, preferred.
    • Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Must have working knowledge of relevant FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), sanitation processes/procedures, SQF requirements and HACCP.
    • Must be able to give clear and precise instructions and delegate job responsibilities to subordinates.
    • Must be able to teach and train employees in their assigned jobs.
    • Must have knowledge of sanitation procedures and company policies.
    • Must have food industry knowledge.
    • Familiar with Safety Learning Management Systems (LMS).

    Supervisory Duties:


    Oversee the Sanitation Department of 1-100 employees.


    Work Environment:


    Industrial plant environment with related noise and temperatures.

    Will work around chemicals and in wet and slippery areas.
