  • Overview

    Maintain cleanliness of all plant assigned areas in accordance with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and systems. Available to work any shift, any day of the week, as assigned. Overtime as needed. Primary work is on Graveyard shift.

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

               

    • Must comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and systems to ensure continual process improvement and effectiveness of our Food Safety Management Systems; with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are manufactured in accordance with their intended use and safe for human consumption.
    • Responsible for maintaining a timely schedule so that all production operations start on time
    • Responsible for monitoring employees’ sanitizing procedures and practices
    • Responsible for accurate completion of all sanitation documentation
    • Responsible for maintaining SAFE WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Responsible for reporting equipment breakdowns to your immediate supervisor or maintenance personnel
    • Responsible for the proper training of employees in all areas of the plants to include Sanitation Workers as well as Sanitation Specialty Workers
    • Assign workers so that all plant areas have adequate staffing and qualified workers at all times
    • Will need to perform Sanitation worker duties as needed
    • Insure company rules and policies are followed and enforced.

     

    SECONDARY DUTIES:

    •   Complete special projects as assigned.
    • Forklift driving will be required from time to time (certification required).
    • Assign sanitation workers to production in the event of a break down (conveyors stopping, product falling on the floor, etc.).
    • Follow company policies.
    • Follow safety procedures.
    • Complete other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
    • Experience and knowledge of production equipment in a manufacturing environment
    • Two years in sanitation or comparable experience
    • Previous Forklift experience and High Staking preferred
    • Must successfully complete forklift evaluation/certification prior to forklift operation
    • Bilingual desired
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

    Supervisory Duties: 

     

    1 - 30 people (average 15).

     

    Work Environment:

     

    Industrial plant environment with related noise and temperatures. Will work around chemicals and in wet and slippery areas.

     

    Physical Requirements:

     

    • Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT).
    • Must be able to work in temperatures that are both cold and hot, with sudden changes of temperature.
    • Noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 92 decibels
    • Must be able to climb stairs and inclined & vertical ladders up to 25ft daily
    • Must be able to do repetitive movements of bending, reaching up to 24” overhead and forward up to 24”, squatting, kneeling, and pushing & pulling an average weight of 80 – 58 lbs
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to work with chemicals
    • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete and/or metal grating.
    • Requires climbing, standing, stooping, twisting, lifting and other physical movements to perform job
    • Must be able to bend or squat low enough to go under conveyor belts.
    • Must have dexterity to be able to hold a high-pressure hose (750-1000 psi) for long periods
