  • Overview

    The primary responsibility for this position is to handle fruit products by dumping, moving, stacking cases & trays and packing of finished products on conveyor belts within Consumer Pack, Plant I and Plant II as well as other designated areas within the plant. Clean up tasks may be required as needed. This is a job with on-call status throughout the year as needed.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Responsible to comply with all Quality and Food Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management System.
    • Follow all GMP’s (good manufacturing practices) and HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points) set for by the company.
    • Comply with all Safety Standards, rules and regulations.
    • Follow all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for the operation of the equipment you will be using.
    • Will perform a variety of production tasks: including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes.
    • Will make card board boxes manually and pack finished goods into correct packages and boxes
    • Responsible for the operation of the packing stations to insure product meets or exceeds specification
    • Notify supervisor immediately of any unsafe work conditions.
    • Notify supervisor immediately of any mechanical or material issues/quality issues so appropriate corrective action is taken
    • Place finished goods on the designated pallet
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area
    • Performs clean up tasks
    • Follow company polices
    • Performs other related duties and assignments as required within physical job requirements of the position.

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to understand and carry out instructions regarding the job and safety procedures.    
    • Must be able to work any shift including weekends
    • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be able to work in a teamwork environment
    • Prior working experience in a Food Manufacturing setting preferred
    • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
    • Requirements - MUST be available to work as needed in all Plant locations without exception to include, Consumer Pack, Pre-Mix, Plant I, Plant II to include all IQF areas, Ipack, Shelf-Stable, Tub & Cup, Puree, Special Projects (Room #1)

    Physical Requirements:       

      • Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT)
      • Temperature ranges vary from extreme cold to hot
      • Noise produced by manufacturing machinery up to 92 decibels
      • Must be able to climb stairs up to 20ft daily  
      • Must be able to do repetitive movements of bending, reaching up to 54” overhead and forward up to 24”, squatting, and pushing & pulling an average weights up to 30 lbs.
      • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
      • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete and/or metal grating
      • Requires climbing, standing, stooping, twisting, lifting and other physical movements to perform job
      • Flexibility to work different shifts and days when required
