Logistics Supervisor

The position overseesall shipping and receiving of productionplants, outside storage warehouses and customer direct orders. This position is accountable for clear, timely communication and paperwork during the “full cycle” of the process (from sales reception to product return).


  • Responsible for executing daily shipping schedule and completing shipment planning
  • Review and approve third party warehouse invoices
  • Train and Supervise Atwater Logistics Departmental personnel
  • Direct team activities by establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance and ensuring the availability of recourses
  • Ensure all orders are tendered to meet customers requested arrival dates
  • Review logistics performance with customers against targets, benchmarks and service agreements
  • Assist with Budget Preparation and monitor on a period end basis making sure expenditures are within budgets parameters
  • Attend and network at various conferences, conventions and classes as required
  • Follow and enforce all company policies, and procedures


  • Maintain full truckload, intermodal, and less-than-truckload routing guides/pricing agreements



  • 2 - 5 years of experience in Operations support, specifically warehouse storage and physical distribution
  • Solid analytical capabilities for reviewing large amounts of data, summarizing the material for management, and identifying the critical issues at both the summary and detailed levels
  • Prior experience with an integrated ERP system and handling transportation and operations related duties
  • Advanced systems knowledge to support Operations tools (SAP, Business Objects, SharePoint, Office 365, Web Portals, Customer web based Logistics portals)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent in experience accepted
  • APICS or CSCMP preferred; related operations management courses helpful
